Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has had its Denuvo protection cracked, just over a month after the remake’s July 9 launch. The crack is credited to voices38, and it lands 11 days after the previous Denuvo takedown, Crimson Desert.

What Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced changes
It is a full remake, not a remaster. Combat has been rebuilt around faster exchanges, parries and takedowns; stealth and parkour are reworked; the Jackdaw picks up upgrades, new naval mechanics and alternate fire modes. New story content brings Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet back with fresh storylines, and three new officers join the crew. You can dive underwater almost anywhere, pull enemies off ledges with the rope, and throw coins to distract guards.
On PC the remake runs on the latest Anvil engine with ray-traced global illumination and reflections. DSOGaming’s own analysis found it stutter-free — one of the smoothest PC releases of 2026. Black Flag Resynced sold two million copies in its first 24 hours.
Why Denuvo keeps making news
Denuvo is anti-tamper software from Irdeto, used by publishers to delay piracy rather than prevent it. It holds for weeks or months, then falls. The gap between the Crimson Desert crack and this one was 11 days.
Meanwhile, publishers keep dropping Denuvo after launch. Square Enix removed it from Final Fantasy 16 and Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake; Capcom from Resident Evil 4 Remake and Monster Hunter Rise; Bethesda from Doom: The Dark Ages. IO Interactive removed it from 007 First Light yesterday, and Focus Entertainment dropped it from Atomic Heart earlier this year. Ubisoft has been less keen: Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora still carries it.
The DRM protects the PC build only, so PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players are unaffected. Black Flag Resynced is out now on PC via Steam and Ubisoft Connect — AED 229 on the UAE Steam store — and on consoles.
