Xbox has reportedly secured an exclusive deal to stream GTA 6 at launch, making Xbox Cloud Gaming the only service expected to stream Rockstar’s game, according to sources cited by The Verge. The duration and financial terms of those GTA 6 streaming rights have not been disclosed.
The Verge links the deal to remarks Xbox CEO Asha Sharma made to employees about a move around the game that no other platform holder was making. The report attributes the rights claim to sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans, rather than a public contract announcement.
GTA 6 streaming rights could bring the game to PC
The reported arrangement covers cloud streaming, not console distribution. Rockstar’s official GTA VI page lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a November 19, 2026 release date; it does not list a PC version.
If the report is accurate, Xbox Cloud Gaming could give PC players a way to access the game at launch without a native Windows release. It would also let players use supported mobile devices, subject to Microsoft’s regional and device requirements.
We have the GTA 6 UAE release time in a separate guide.
Xbox Cloud Gaming’s November limits
The timing overlaps with Microsoft’s planned changes to cloud access. Its September announcement sets monthly limits at 15 hours for Game Pass Ultimate, 10 for Premium and five for Essential. Subscribers can buy more cloud playtime through the Xbox Store after using their allowance.
The Verge also reports that Microsoft plans to offer pay-as-you-go cloud access in November, including for people without Game Pass. Microsoft has not announced the price of additional hours or a GTA VI-specific bundle. We previously covered the Xbox Cloud Gaming monthly limits.
What GTA 6 streaming rights mean in the UAE
There is a regional limitation for local players. Microsoft’s UAE supported-regions page currently lists Xbox Cloud Gaming as unsupported in the country, so the reported deal would not itself create an officially supported UAE cloud route for GTA VI.
That could change if Microsoft adds local cloud support before launch. Rockstar’s current console listing remains the confirmed route for UAE players checking the game’s availability; no local streaming price or UAE cloud launch has been announced.

Will Game Pass cloud hours be unlimited for GTA VI?
No. Microsoft’s November allowances are 15 hours per month for Ultimate, 10 for Premium and five for Essential. Subscribers can purchase additional cloud playtime through the Xbox Store after using their included hours.
Does the reported deal make GTA VI an Xbox console exclusive?
No. The Verge reports an exclusive cloud-streaming arrangement, not exclusive console distribution. Rockstar’s current platform listing still includes PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
