Prime members in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt can claim Doom (2016) and Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit from today, the first two of ten PC games Amazon is handing out through Luna in October. Amazon confirmed the full line-up in its October Luna content update, with two new titles arriving every Thursday until the end of the month.

The scheme used to be called Prime Gaming, and Amazon has since folded it into Luna, its cloud gaming brand. The rebrand changed less than the name suggests. Each game still arrives as a code or claim for a PC storefront, so it stays in your library after Prime lapses, unlike PlayStation Plus and Game Pass.

Can you claim them in the Middle East?

Yes, with one big caveat. Amazon’s Luna country eligibility page lists the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt as “non-cloud” regions. Prime members in all three get claimable games, but not cloud streaming or GameNight. Those are still limited to the US, UK, Canada and 11 European countries, according to Amazon’s Luna FAQ.

So the free PC downloads work across the region, but the extra Luna Standard games Amazon is advertising this month don’t. That includes Star Wars: Galactic Racer and Sonic X Shadow Generations. Amazon also says your Prime membership has to be from the country you currently live in.

Amazon’s announcement doesn’t flag regional exclusions for any of October’s ten titles, and its help pages don’t publish per-game country lists. The claim page you see while signed in is the final word.

Doom (2016) is the headline, and it follows on neatly from last month. September’s Prime line-up included Doom Eternal, and Video Games Chronicle reports that Eternal, Botany Manor, Rims Racing and High on Life can still be claimed before they rotate out during October. Anyone who grabbed Eternal now has a chance to add the 2016 reboot that came before it.

Into the Pit is a 2D, pixel-art spin-off rather than a mainline Five Nights at Freddy’s game. That makes it timely, with the series also turning up in Fortnite’s Fortnitemares event this Halloween. Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong and Ad Infinitum carry on the horror theme later in the month.

How claiming works

You’ll need a free account on whichever store hosts the game. Four of the ten are Epic Games Store claims. Three are GOG codes, two run through Amazon’s own games app and one is a Legacy Games code. For anyone who has moved to Linux, the Epic Games Store’s upcoming native Linux support should make those Epic claims easier to play.

Prime on Amazon.ae costs AED 16 a month or AED 140 a year, VAT included. Ten games a month is a decent return on that, even if Gulf members still miss out on the streaming half of the benefit.

FAQs

Do I keep the games if I cancel Prime?

Yes. Once a game is claimed and redeemed on its storefront, it stays in that library.

Can I stream these games on Luna from the UAE?

No. Amazon only offers Luna cloud gaming in 14 countries, and the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt aren’t among them. Members there get the claimable PC games only.

When does each batch arrive?

New games go live on Thursdays: October 8, 15, 22 and 29, with two titles each week.
