GameStop has listed a pre-owned PS5 Pro at $1,399.99 in the US, according to IGN’s report. That is $500 above the current $899.99 US recommended retail price in Sony’s latest price schedule. The used PS5 Pro price is now higher than the price of a new console.

Used PS5 Pro price is $500 above US RRP

TweakTown’s separate check of GameStop’s listing found the same $1,399.99 pre-owned price beside a $899.99 new option. It reported that the used unit was unavailable online when checked, so the listing does not confirm stock at that price.

UAE PS5 Pro listings are near AED 5,000

UAE asking prices have also climbed into a similar bracket: Amazon.ae’s PS5 Pro search page showed an international-version PS5 Pro Digital listing at AED 4,990 when checked. At the AED/USD peg, GameStop’s $1,399.99 price is about AED 5,141. The two are close in price, but not like-for-like: Amazon.ae’s result is a marketplace listing and does not establish an official UAE RRP or a used-console price.

Sony’s 2024 launch announcement set the US launch MSRP at $699.99. Its 2026 price update raised the US RRP to $899.99 and directs buyers in other territories to local retailers. For UAE model comparisons, see our PS5 buying guide and report on the global PS5 price increase.

IGN says third-party reseller offers have also risen and points to expected demand ahead of Grand Theft Auto VI and component shortages as possible factors. Those explanations are attributed to IGN; neither Sony nor GameStop has publicly confirmed them as the reason for this listing.

Is AED 4,990 the official UAE price for the PS5 Pro?

No. AED 4,990 was the price shown for one international-version PS5 Pro Digital listing on Amazon.ae, a marketplace result rather than a published Sony UAE RRP. Sellers, stock, warranty and bundle contents can differ.

Does GameStop’s $1,399.99 listing mean a used PS5 Pro is in stock?

Not necessarily. TweakTown said the pre-owned listing was unavailable online when it checked, so buyers should confirm stock and condition before treating the price as an offer they can purchase.
