Apple’s online store in the UAE has gone down, a few hours before iPhone 18 Pro pre-orders open at 4pm local time.
As of 11:15am on Saturday 12 September, every shopping page on apple.com/ae is returning an error — the iPhone buy page, the Watch and AirPods buy pages, and the bag and checkout screens. Apple’s product and marketing pages are still loading normally, which is the giveaway: this is not an outage, it is Apple swapping the store over.
This happens before every iPhone pre-order
Apple takes its store offline for a few hours before pre-orders open so it can push new product pages, stock and payment plumbing live at the same moment worldwide. The store typically reappears in the minutes right before the hour, already showing the new models. Nothing is wrong with your connection, your Apple Account or the app, and refreshing every thirty seconds will not get you in earlier.
What opens at 4pm
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max go up for pre-order at 4pm UAE time, with deliveries and store collection from Friday 18 September. The Pro starts at AED 5,099 and the Pro Max at AED 5,499, both with 256GB, and every tier is in our Apple UAE price roundup.
The iPhone Duo, Apple’s first foldable, is not part of today — it pre-orders on 16 October at AED 8,499. The Apple Watch Series 12 and the new AirPods are on the same 18 September date as the phones.
Use the downtime
The store being down is the best twenty minutes you will get to prepare. Sign in to your Apple Account now and check the saved card has not expired, confirm your delivery address, and decide on model, colour and storage before the clock turns — the popular configurations are the ones that slip to October, and choosing at 4:01pm is how you end up on a later date.
