What’s on sale now

The V80 took centre stage, and vivo built its pitch around portraits. A 50 MP ZEISS Super Telephoto camera gives 3x optical zoom, and a ZEISS 100 mm Center-Stage Portrait mode adds Planar Style Bokeh to separate subjects from the background.

A CCD Flash Portrait mode pairs flash with a CCD-inspired look for evening shots. The rest of the phone features a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip, 256GB or 512GB of storage, and 8GB of RAM with up to 16GB of Extended RAM. The phone is available in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with a 7,200mAh battery and OriginOS 7 based on Android 17. On pricing, vivo’s UAE online store, vivobuy.com, lists the V80 at AED 2,599 for the 8GB+256GB model, and the listing bundles extras such as earbuds and extended warranty.

The X Fold6 is the more significant arrival for the region, because vivo calls it its first foldable smartphone launch in the Middle East. Its 8.02-inch inner display runs up to four app windows side by side, which suits comparing information or reviewing documents without constant app switching. The Prism Black version measures about 4.4 mm unfolded and weighs 228 g, and a 6,900 mAh BlueVolt battery and a 200 MP ZEISS main camera complete the spec sheet. vivo hasn’t published a UAE price in its release.

What’s still to come

The X500 Series preview focused on video. X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max record native 4K slow motion at 240 fps and offer 4K Cinematic Portrait Video with a choice of colour styles. The Pro Max adds a 200 MP ZEISS APO Telephoto Camera with subject tracking, which vivo pitches at concerts and sporting events where the subject sits far from the lens.

Beyond phones, vivo showed two audio products. Buds Clip offers up to 42 hours of total battery life, 12 mm drivers and Hi-Res audio, with call noise cancellation built for ambient noise up to 100 dB. Headphones Studio claims up to 75 hours of battery life at 238 g, with active noise cancellation. Guests also got a first regional hands-on with vivo Vision, the company’s new MR headset, though vivo presented it purely as a demo.
