Motorola appears to be preparing an unnamed wide foldable phone, according to design sketches shared with Android Headlines and reported by GSMArena. The source says the device will arrive “in the coming months”, but Motorola has not announced the phone, its name or a launch date.
Motorola wide foldable sketches show two possible camera designs
The sketches show a book-style phone with a horizontally aligned camera island on the rear. Two versions appear in the material: one puts three circular cutouts inside the bar, while another places one cutout just outside it. The smaller opening may be an LED flash or another sensor, so the final camera count remains unconfirmed.
The camera bar sits near the top centre of the rear panel. That would give the phone a different balance from the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8, whose rear cameras sit in the top-left corner. Digital Trends says the centred layout could reduce the wobble caused by an off-centre camera module, although that is an interpretation of the sketches rather than a confirmed Motorola feature.
What the Motorola wide foldable could offer
The design notes describe an “easy-open profile”, an “ultra-slim housing”, a “creaseless display” and 3D glass on the back. Those are labels on leaked design material, not specifications Motorola has confirmed. The sketches also show Motorola branding on the hinge, a selfie camera at the top-right of the inner screen and a centred punch-hole camera on the cover display.
Motorola already sells the Razr Fold in the UAE, but this leak points to a separate wide form factor rather than another Razr flip phone. The company’s official Razr Fold announcement describes an 8.1-inch inner display, while these new sketches do not provide a screen size, processor, battery capacity or price.
