Honor has confirmed the Magic 9 series lands in September, and a fresh leak from Digital Chat Station suggests two phones are coming: the Magic 9 and a larger Honor Magic 9 Pro (or Pro Max — the leaks have not agreed on the name).

The base Magic 9 reportedly keeps the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 from the Magic 8, a choice the leaker blames on the RAM and storage chip shortage. It gets a 6.36-inch “1.5K” screen and a battery that is not detailed further.

The second device carries the bigger numbers. The Honor Magic 9 Pro is tipped to run the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro on a 6.8-inch “1.5K” display, with two 200MP sensors — a 1/1.28-inch main and a 1/1.4-inch periscope telephoto — co-developed with ARRI.

Notebookcheck adds the optics: an f/1.57 main with three-degree optical stabilisation and an f/2.6 periscope. The leaker also expects an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint reader, 3D face unlock, high-power wireless charging, proper water resistance and a battery between 8,000 and 8,999 mAh.

Honor confirmed the September window, with GSMArena reporting Digital Chat Station’s claims. The specific date, per Notebookcheck, is 28 September.

The base model keeping the Gen 5 chip is a consequence of the memory shortage rather than a downgrade — the Magic 8 shipped with the same silicon. The larger device’s 8,900mAh ceiling would put it among the biggest batteries in any flagship, past or planned.

What it means if you’re shopping in the UAE

Honor is the Middle East’s No. 2 phone brand and treats the UAE as a flagship market — its Dubai Mall store opened this year. The Magic 8 Pro landed here from AED 3,999, so the Pro tier is familiar territory. Honor has not confirmed UAE pricing or a release date for the Magic 9 series; the September event should settle both.

Who is Digital Chat Station?

Digital Chat Station is a Chinese tipster on Weibo with a strong track record on upcoming smartphone hardware. The two-Magic-9-device leak and most of the specs come from their account, cited by GSMArena and Notebookcheck.

Is the Honor Magic 9 Pro the same as the Magic 9 Pro Max?

Likely yes. Leaks have not agreed on the name — some say Magic 9 Pro, some Magic 9 Pro Max — but they describe the same device: a 6.8-inch model with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro and dual 200MP cameras. Honor has not confirmed the final name.

How much could the Honor Magic 9 Pro cost in the UAE?

No price has been announced. The Magic 8 Pro launched in the UAE from AED 3,999, so the Magic 9 Pro is expected to sit in a similar flagship bracket. Honor has not confirmed UAE pricing or a release date yet.
