PlayStation kicked off the summer gaming showcase season with a packed State of Play presentation on June 2, delivering more than an hour of new trailers, gameplay footage, release dates, and surprise reveals for games heading to PS5.
The show opened with an extended look at Insomniac Games' Wolverine and ended with the reveal of God of War: Laufey, the next mainline entry in Santa Monica Studio's series. Between those two announcements, Sony also revealed Until Dawn 2, brought back the Stuntman series, confirmed a release date for Phantom Blade Zero, and offered fresh looks at games including Control Resonant, Silent Hill: Townfall, and Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis.
Marvel’s Wolverine
Insomniac Games opened the State of Play with an extended gameplay look at Marvel’s Wolverine, which launches exclusively for PS5 on September 15.
The new footage reinforced that this will be a far more violent game than Insomniac’s Spider-Man titles, with Logan using his claws in close-quarters fights against the Reavers, a cybernetic militia hunting mutants on behalf of Bolivar Trask.
The trailer also introduced Jean Grey, who joins Logan during the sequence and uses her telekinetic abilities in combat. Insomniac describes the game as a single-player action adventure with an original story centred on Logan, rather than a direct adaptation of an existing comic or film storyline.
God of War Laufey
Santa Moncia Studio closed tthe show with the reveal of God of War Laufey, the next mainline entry in the series. Rather than following Kratos or Arteus, the game puts Laufey - better known as Faye - at the centre of the story.
After unexpectedly awakening following her funeral, Faye discovers that the plans she put in place to protect Kratos and Arteus are at risk. Her journey takes her through the Everywhen, an afterlife for gods where characters and creatures from different mythologies exist alongside one another.
The gameplay reveal showed a faster and more agile combat system built around Faye's movement between ground and aerial attacks. Deborah Ann Woll reprises her role as Faye, while Jack Quaid voices Phrangque, a curious cosmic cube who joins her during the journey. A release date has not been announced, but God of War Laufey is coming to PS5.
Until Dawn 2
Firesprite Games is developing Until Dawn 2, a standalone sequel to the 2015 horror game. The new story follows a crew of ghost hunters travelling to an abandoned tropical island to film the debut episode of a TV show.
As expected from an Until Dawn game, player decisions will shape how the story plays out and determine which characters survive. The sequel introduces a new cast and setting, although Peter Stormare is returning as the engimatic Dr. Hill.
Until Dawn 2 is coming to PS5 in 2027.
Stuntman: Hollywood
The Stuntman series is making an unexpected return with Stuntman: Hollywood, a new PS5 game from Saber Interactive built around performing elaborate stunts for films and television shows.
The reveal trailer included sequences inspired by Universal Pictures and NBCUniversal properties such as Fast & Furious, Back to the Future, Knight Rider, Miami Vice, and Death Race. Players will be able to drive vehicles including the Time Machine and KITT, alongside cars, motorcycles, SUVs, and even a school bus.
Each film is divided into episodes with different vehicles, environments, objectives, and gameplay twists. The aim is not simply to finish each sequence, but to complete the director’s instructions while pulling off stylish stunts and earning a higher score. A release date has not been announced.
Kemuri
Unseen, the Tokyo-based studio led by Ikumi Nakamura, revealed a new look at Kemuri, a yokai-possession action game coming to PS5 in 2027.
Set in the vertical streets, rooftops, alleys, and hidden ruins of Kemuri City, the game places players in the role of a yokai hunter confronting supernatural threats. Defeating yokai allows players to form contracts with them and unlock Possession Apparel, which changes both the character’s appearance and combat abilities.
Kemuri can be played alone or in online co-op with up to three players.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis launches for PS5 on February 12, 2027.

The developers have also reworked the puzzles so they feel more naturally connected to the environments rather than existing as a series of isolated rooms. Legacy of Atlantis is being built in Unreal Engine 5 and will revisit other familiar locations from Lara’s first adventure, including the ruins of Greece.

Ubisoft is bringing back Rayman with Rayman Legends Retold, a 3D reimagining of the platformer launching for PS5 on October 1.

The game takes place on an abandoned island filled with overgrown environments and deserted buildings, with the story unfolding through exploration and environmental details.
