Insomniac says it is listening to Marvel’s Wolverine feedback and plans to refine the player experience, though it has not said what changes are coming.

The studio made the comment in a launch-day post celebrating the game’s release on PlayStation 5. A Marvel’s Wolverine update has not been announced, but the wording leaves room for changes after launch. “We’re also actively engaged with our player community and gathering feedback to further refine the player experience,” Insomniac said. IGN reported the statement, alongside a 77 Metascore and its own 6/10 review.

What could change in a Marvel’s Wolverine update?

Insomniac has not announced a patch, feature list or timetable. The studio’s community director James Stevenson later said the team had been “100% listening” and was “cooking hard” in response to feedback, according to Metro.

The most visible complaint concerns Wolverine’s scent trail, which guides Logan towards objectives and collectibles. Players have compared the effect to “fart gas” and criticised it as another layer of guidance in a game that already uses markers and other assists. Stevenson has said the trail is not always active and appears during specific story moments or when Logan catches the scent of a collectible.

Review criticism has also focused on repetitive combat and the game’s linear structure. IGN said the combat wears thin before the conclusion, while the official PlayStation preview describes a campaign built around fast combat, set pieces and accessibility options.

What Insomniac has not confirmed

“Further refine” leaves the scope open. It could mean adjustments to the scent trail, accessibility settings or combat balance, but there is no confirmation that Insomniac plans to redesign missions or add new content. The launch statement is a commitment to consider feedback, not a patch announcement.

Marvel’s Wolverine launched on September 15 for PS5. This is the latest in a run of coverage following the game’s mixed critical reception and an earlier Insomniac response to criticism.
