Google is already laying the groundwork for Gemini 3.7 Flash, its next fast-shipping AI model — groundwork that could land before Gemini 3.5 Pro, the flagship it has been promising since June, has even launched.
NokiaPowerUser reports code references, API endpoint pre-allocations and backend testing signals for 3.7 Flash, though Google has announced nothing and there is no release date. The pattern, per the outlet, is the Flash line itself: it is where Google ships fastest, with smaller iterative updates moving from testing straight to developer endpoints.
The track record backs that. Gemini 3.5 Flash arrived on 19 May, and 3.6 Flash, 3.5 Flash-Lite and 3.5 Flash Cyber followed on 21 July. The Flash models are the workhorses: cheaper per token, faster, built for the agentic workflows that are currently the industry’s favourite word.
The Pro side is another story. Bloomberg reported in mid-July that Gemini 3.5 Pro is months behind schedule, with Google still working on its coding capabilities while rivals Anthropic and OpenAI ship. Google’s own July announcement acknowledged the wait:
“Gemini 3.5 Pro is currently testing with partners and we plan to make it broadly available as soon as it’s ready. In parallel, our team is already focusing on building the next generation of models.”
The same post confirmed a pre-training run for Gemini 4. The result is a line-up where the next model most people actually meet could be 3.7 Flash, not the flagship that keeps getting promised.

Gemini Flash keeps shipping while Pro waits
None of this is new behaviour. Google skipped a public 3.5-class Pro entirely when it moved from Gemini 2.5 to the 3 family, letting the Flash line carry the consumer rollout. The 3.5 generation was supposed to be different — 3.5 Pro was the model Google pointed at when it promised agents that run whole jobs. It is still testing with partners.
What it means if you use Gemini in the UAE
Flash-class models are what run the consumer Gemini features reaching the region: the Gemini that replaced Google Assistant in GM cars in the UAE, and the agentic Maps features that book hotels and order food. Those keep updating on the Flash cadence while the Pro flagship waits. The delay is a developer conversation; the car and the Maps app don’t care.
What is Gemini 3.7 Flash?
Gemini 3.7 Flash is Google’s next lightweight Flash-series model, following Gemini 3.5 Flash in May and Gemini 3.6 Flash in July 2026. Google has not announced it; the evidence so far is code references and backend testing signals.
When will Gemini 3.7 Flash launch?
There is no release date. NokiaPowerUser reports API endpoint pre-allocations and testing groundwork, but Google has said nothing publicly. Flash models have historically shipped quickly once groundwork appears.
Why is Gemini 3.5 Pro delayed?
Bloomberg reported in July 2026 that Gemini 3.5 Pro is months behind schedule while Google works on its coding capabilities. Google says the model is testing with partners and will be broadly available when ready.
