ChatGPT Google Health support may be coming to Android

Android Authority says ChatGPT Google Health support could soon reach Android users, based on an early look at the app’s code. Android Authority found the signs in ChatGPT for Android version 1.2026.300. It says Google Health support isn’t live, and we haven’t seen an OpenAI announcement.

What the ChatGPT Google Health code shows

Android Authority says it found evidence in the app that OpenAI could soon let users connect ChatGPT to Google Health. It’s unclear what the new code activities will do, but Android Authority says they strongly suggest the work is well underway.

This is an APK teardown, which reads unfinished code to predict features. Such features may not reach a public release. Android Authority says the permissions aren’t live in the app.

Why Android users are waiting

ChatGPT Health was announced earlier this year, and OpenAI widened the rollout in July. Android Authority says it’s now widely available in the US on iOS and Android. Android Authority says Android users can’t yet connect Google Health.

iPhone users can already connect Apple Health. OpenAI’s help page lists Apple Health and supported medical records as sources, and says connecting Apple Health requires an iPhone.

Android Authority says data from smartwatches and fitness trackers usually syncs with Google Health. A connection could therefore bring that data into ChatGPT.

Caution on health advice

Android Authority notes that ChatGPT recently drew criticism after it gave fatal advice to a woman taking seizure medication. OpenAI’s help page says Health isn’t intended for diagnosis or treatment.

The help page also says Health is available to eligible users in the US. We haven’t seen a source on UAE availability.
