TCL is one of the region’s biggest TV brands, and it recently added four gaming monitors to its UAE lineup.
The cheapest is the 25-inch 25P1A at AED 699, while the 32-inch 32X3A OLED+ sits at the top at AED 4,999. It is a 4K OLED panel that TCL rates at up to 1,300 nits, with a Dual-Mode switch between 4K at 240Hz and Full HD at 480Hz, plus built-in Bang & Olufsen audio. Two Mini LED gaming models sit between them: the 27P2A and the 27P3A Pro.
We spoke with Vic Shen, General Manager of TCL Middle East, about why TCL entered the premium end, how it expects to compete with established monitor brands, and what UAE buyers get in warranty and service. We’ve condensed and lightly edited his answers for clarity.
Why is TCL entering the UAE monitor market now, and why start with premium models?
The monitor market in the UAE is evolving rapidly, driven by growth in gaming, content creation and hybrid work. Consumers increasingly want displays that deliver not only speed and responsiveness, but also picture quality.
For TCL, entering the monitor category is a natural extension of our broader display expertise. We have invested heavily in Mini LED, QD-Mini LED and OLED, and we see an opportunity to bring those to monitor users in the UAE. Starting with a premium lineup lets us show what these technologies can deliver at a time when users value HDR, colour accuracy, and contrast more.
Samsung, LG, ASUS and MSI already own this market. What gap is TCL going after?
The monitor market is highly competitive, and we’re not focused on market-share targets at this stage. We are focused on users who want a combination of gaming performance and premium picture quality.
We believe there is growing demand for monitors that go beyond traditional specifications. Mini LED and QD-Mini LED enable higher brightness, more precise light control, stronger HDR performance and richer colours.
What do UAE buyers want from a monitor that’s different from Europe or Asia?
The UAE has a highly engaged gaming community that quickly adopts new technologies and premium products. Many buyers are no longer evaluating monitors solely on refresh rates or response times. They also place significant importance on image quality, HDR performance, and colour reproduction.
This has influenced the development of our lineup. Mini LED and QD-Mini LED give greater control over light and dark areas of the image, so you get brighter highlights, deeper blacks and better contrast, whether you’re playing competitive esports titles or visually intensive AAA games.
What does the “+” in OLED+ mean?
The 32X3A OLED+ is TCL’s flagship monitor and the highest tier of our portfolio. It has a 32-inch 4K UHD OLED panel, a 240Hz refresh rate, a 0.03ms response time, Audio by Bang & Olufsen, customisable rear lighting and an ultra-thin design.
The OLED+ designation reflects the monitor’s premium positioning within the TCL lineup, combining high-end display performance with premium design and entertainment features.
How much does TCL’s own panel manufacturing shape its monitors?
Our display expertise plays a significant role in how we develop the portfolio. Our experience with Mini LED, QD-Mini LED and OLED lets us push brightness, colour accuracy, contrast and HDR performance.
It has helped us bring technologies originally developed for premium large-screen TVs to desktop monitors for gaming, entertainment, productivity, and content creation.
OLED burn-in is still a worry for people who work on their monitor. What cover does the 32X3A get?
All TCL monitors, including the 32X3A OLED+, are backed by a three-year whole-unit warranty in the UAE and are supported through TCL’s local after-sales service network. Customers can access support through TCL’s authorised service channels across the country.
Where does the 27P3A Pro’s QD-Mini LED beat OLED for a gamer?
QD-Mini LED is a major focus of TCL’s display strategy. By combining Mini LED backlighting with quantum dot technology, the 27P3A Pro delivers high brightness, strong colour performance and contrast.
Its 1,196 local dimming zones provide precise backlight control, so bright and dark elements can sit on screen together more accurately. For gamers, that means stronger HDR, better visibility in darker scenes and more image detail. The 27P3A Pro pairs that with a 320Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time.
Why build Bang & Olufsen audio into a monitor when most gamers use headsets?
Today’s monitors do much more than gaming. Many people use a single display for streaming, content creation, work and calls throughout the day.
While many gamers use headsets for competitive play, there are plenty of moments when users prefer good integrated audio, whether they’re watching content, editing videos, listening to music, joining meetings or playing casually. That’s why we partnered with Bang & Olufsen. Audio by Bang & Olufsen means users don’t have to buy separate speakers, and it keeps desk setups cleaner.
Together with the 32-inch 4K OLED panel and 240Hz refresh rate, it positions the 32X3A OLED+ as more than just a gaming monitor. It’s a display for people who want picture quality and sound in one product.
How much do TCL’s monitors cost in the UAE, and where can you buy them?
The TCL 25P1A is AED 699, the 27P2A is AED 1,099, the 27P3A Pro is AED 1,799 and the 32X3A OLED+ is AED 4,999.
The range is available online through Microless, Eros Retail, Sharaf DG, Noon and Amazon. Customers can also see selected models at Eros Retail stores and participating Union Coop stores across the UAE.
