Set videos from the Glasgow set of The Batman Part II show the Batman Part 2 Batmobile being chased by GCPD and SWAT vehicles through streets dressed in fake snow, with officers opening fire at point-blank range.
The footage, shot by fans on set and shared across social media over the past week, shows the muscle-car Batmobile doing donuts as police close in, GCPD cars surrounding it, and SWAT officers firing at close range. A SWAT vehicle rams the Batmobile at one point. Filming took place at night, with Glasgow standing in for a snow-covered Gotham City.
The Batmobile has also been spotted with a mystery blonde passenger in recent days, and set photos have shown anti-drug adverts referencing the first film’s fictional narcotic, “drops”, on Gotham City cabs.
The first film ended with Batman and Lt Jim Gordon’s working relationship intact, and Batman saving the mayor from the Riddler. This footage suggests that alliance has soured: Batman is being treated as an outlaw, and the police he once worked alongside are now the ones chasing him down.
Whether the mystery passenger is Scarlett Johansson, who joined the cast earlier this year, remains unconfirmed. So does the persistent rumour that Sebastian Stan plays Harvey Dent. The film’s wintry setting has also inspired the usual speculation that Mister Freeze is involved.
