The A20 Pro result is reported as 26% ahead of AMD’s 16-core Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 32% ahead of Intel’s Core i9-14900KS in single-thread performance. That comparison applies to one workload. The desktop processors remain far ahead in multi-core throughput, where their larger power and cooling budgets have room to do the less glamorous work.
What Apple confirms about the A20 Pro
Apple says the A20 Pro is built on a 2nm process, has a six-core CPU with integrated Neural Accelerators and provides 50% more memory bandwidth than the A19 Pro. Its seven-core GPU is rated for up to 40% faster graphics performance than the previous generation.
The company has not published the Geekbench 7 score. The benchmark entry is an early submission, so its device configuration, software and thermal conditions may not represent every production iPhone.
