Obsession breakout Inde Navarrette has confirmed she’s been approached for video game voice acting — and says the work starts “soon”. She has also made clear which franchise she would most like to land in: Resident Evil.
Navarrette told Variety’s Tiana DeNicola in a video interview in late July that she is “on a Resident Evil kick” and has been working through the games. When DeNicola said a Resident Evil role would be perfect for her, Navarrette’s answer was instant: “I would die inside.”
“I love that world, specifically — the Resident Evil world.”
Asked whether anyone had reached out about voice work in games, Navarrette confirmed they had, and said she is “starting my journey with that soon”. She would not name the projects. The first one sounds deliberately modest: “I wanna try something smaller to kind of test the waters.”
The interview also surfaced a gap in her homework. Navarrette had not heard about Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil film, which reaches cinemas in September. “I will buy a ticket,” she said. “That’s exciting!”
Her gaming credentials predate the horror fame. Navarrette grew up on party games for the PlayStation 2 with her mother and older brother, moved on to Red Dead Redemption 2 and The Last of Us, and is a serious Call of Duty player — a fan once gifted her a sealed 2009 copy of Modern Warfare 2. She also recently confirmed meeting X-Men reboot director Jake Schreier, with fans pushing her as Mystique.
The Resident Evil wish is the first one aimed squarely at games. Whether Capcom answers it is another matter; Navarrette has not named a studio or a title, and “starting soon” is not a casting announcement. What is settled is the enthusiasm — and, per DeNicola, the fit.
