According to analytics firm Sensor Tower, GTA 6 has passed $750 million in pre-order revenue with two weeks to go. Its tracker, updated as of 3 November, estimates 7.71 million copies sold across PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. That’s up by more than $100 million and close to 1.3 million units since the last update, which Insider Gaming reported at well over $600 million earlier in October.
These are third-party estimates. Rockstar Games hasn’t confirmed any data yet, and the studio hasn’t published a pre-order count of its own. The game launches on 19 November, and pre-orders opened on 25 June.
The numbers, split by console
Sensor Tower’s sales tracker shows PlayStation taking three in every four copies. The revenue split follows the unit split closely.
| Platform | Share | Units | Revenue | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PS5 | 74% | 5.74 million | $559 million | |
| Xbox Series X\ | S | 26% | 1.97 million | $192 million |
The lopsided split isn’t a surprise to GamingBolt, which points to the PS5’s larger installed base and Sony’s marketing deal with Rockstar. Xbox sees it differently. GamingBolt notes that Xbox’s chief strategy officer, Matthew Ball, said in September that Xbox was happy with its pre-orders and that its share matched its share of the console market. Both can be true: a 26% share of pre-orders is a record for a Rockstar game on Xbox only if the console base is small enough, and that depends on figures neither company has published.
What $750 million means for launch week
The pace is picking up as launch nears. Insider Gaming says the game added over $100 million in about two weeks, and whether it reaches $1 billion before launch is still open. Another analytics firm, Newzoo, expects the game to make close to $5.2 billion in its launch week. For scale, GTA 5 took about $800 million in its first 24 hours in 2013 and reached $1 billion in three days, so $750 million before anyone has played GTA 6 puts it near that opening-day record.
Unit counts give another yardstick. The 7.71 million pre-orders already exceed the 6 million copies that Crimson Desert sold in less than three months. They also equal about half the 15 million that Meccha Chameleon sold to become 2026’s best-selling game. GTA 6 hasn’t launched yet, so both of those games are likely to be overtaken within days of release.
Pre-load is the next milestone
Rockstar has also announced the pre-load date and time, which Insider Gaming says could give pre-orders another push.
Digital pre-loading opens on 10 November. In the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, PS5 owners can start at midnight local time, while Xbox unlocks at 12am GMT, which is 4am in the UAE, 3am in Saudi Arabia and 2am in Egypt. The full times and the file-size breakdown are in our pre-load guide. Rockstar’s Newswire post says the download needs up to 212 GB, so we recommend clearing space on your internal or external drive before the 10th.
Are the $750 million and 7.71 million figures official?
No. Sensor Tower’s tracker produces estimates, and Rockstar and Take-Two haven’t confirmed a pre-order count. Treat the numbers as a guide to demand until the publisher reports its own.
When can I pre-load GTA 6 in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt?
Pre-loading opens on 10 November. On PS5 it starts at midnight local time in all three countries. On Xbox Series X|S it starts at 12am GMT, which is 4am in the UAE, 3am in Saudi Arabia and 2am in Egypt.
Is it too late to pre-order GTA 6?
No. The game launches on 19 November on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Pre-load needs a digital pre-order or purchase, and code-in-box copies are expected at retailers from 12 November, so check stock with your local store.
