Saber Interactive and IO Interactive have announced Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered, a new collection bringing together the first three games in the long-running stealth series.
Set to launch in 2027, the collection includes remastered versions of Hitman: Codename 47, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin and Hitman: Contracts. It will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam. A Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 version has not been announced.
The announcement was made during the IO Interactive Showcase, with Saber Interactive handling the remaster project in partnership with the original Hitman developer.
Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered Includes Three Classic Agent 47 Games
The collection goes back to the beginning of Agent 47's story rather than revisiting the newer World of Assassination trilogy.
The original Hitman: Codename 47 launched in 2000 and introduced the series' blend of stealth, disguises and open-ended assassination missions. Hitman 2: Silent Assassin expanded on those ideas with more refined stealth mechanics and the rating system that gave the sequel its name. Hitman: Contracts followed with a noticeably darker tone, revisiting several of Agent 47's most dangerous assignments through fragmented memories.
While these early games can feel considerably rougher than the modern Hitman titles, they laid the groundwork for the more elaborate sandbox missions that the series would eventually become known for.
The Remaster Adds Enhanced Visuals and a Graphics Toggle
Saber says the remastered collection will include upgraded character models, enhanced environments, improved lighting, high-resolution textures and better performance on modern platforms.
Players will also be able to switch instantly between the original presentation and the updated visuals. It is a similar approach to the visual toggles included in several other retro remasters, allowing returning players to compare the updated environments with the original versions while playing.
The announcement trailer does not show gameplay, but the screenshots released alongside the reveal highlight some of the environmental upgrades. Flat background assets have been replaced with more detailed 3D environments in at least some areas.
Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered Will Also Add Photo Mode
The collection will introduce a dedicated Photo Mode, although Saber has not yet shared the full details of how it will work.
According to the studio, players will be able to capture Agent 47 during missions or use the feature to explore the environments in greater detail. Saber previously added similar Photo Mode features to its Tomb Raider and Legacy of Kain remasters.
Saber Interactive has worked on a growing number of remaster projects in recent years, including Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary and Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
