Xbox has opened pre-orders for the Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition Xbox Wireless Controller, priced at $89.99 (£84.99 / €89.99) ahead of the game’s 6 October launch.
Gears of War E-Day controller design
The controller matches the price of the previous Forza Horizon 6 limited edition pad and leans hard into the look of Emergence Day. The face is 3D-moulded and laser-etched to resemble cracked asphalt, with red glowing cracks lit as though an E-hole is erupting underneath. The Crimson Omen sits front and centre, the ABXY buttons are blacked out apart from a transparent red X, and the thumbsticks, D-pad and leather-like grips complete the black-and-red scheme. A metallic COG tag on the battery door carries the “Never Fight Alone” motto.
Gears of War E-Day Design Lab controller
A second version, the Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition with Xbox Design Lab, arrives on 30 September. It carries artwork from UK illustrator Luke Preece — two crossed Chainsaw Lancers surrounded by skulls — and can be customised with button styles, metallic triggers and D-pads, rubberised grips and engraving. Both controllers make their public debut at the Xbox booth at gamescom 2026.
Xbox also announced an 8BitDo Ultimate Charging Dock in the same theme, compatible with Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One controllers. It ships on 9 October at $39.99.
Pre-orders for the standard edition run through Xbox.com and participating retailers, with free shipping from the Microsoft Store. There is no UAE listing on Amazon.ae yet — the standard Xbox Wireless Controller currently sells there from about AED 169, and at the fixed peg the limited edition works out to roughly AED 330, though local pricing is not confirmed.
Gears of War: E-Day launches on 6 October for PC and Xbox Series X|S as a console exclusive, so there is no PlayStation version to come. The game reportedly needs 130GB of SSD space, and its budget has been reported at more than $400 million.
