Peacock has ordered a scripted Fast & Furious series for a planned 2028 premiere, with Vin Diesel executive producing and Mike Daniels and Wolfe Coleman writing the pilot and serving as co-showrunners. The Fast & Furious Peacock series has no announced title, cast or exact launch date. Variety reported the order after Peacock announced it on Thursday. The Hollywood Reporter also confirmed the official series order.
Fast & Furious Peacock series: first order is now official
The order moves the project beyond the development stage described in tbreak’s earlier report on four Peacock projects. That earlier announcement followed Vin Diesel’s comments at NBCUniversal’s May upfront, where he said four shows were coming. The Fast & Furious Peacock series is the only one of those projects currently reported to have received an order. Deadline says three other projects were discussed as being in development, but does not report orders for them.
Mike Daniels and Wolfe Coleman will write the pilot and serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. Diesel is also executive producing with Sam Vincent of One Race, Neal H. Moritz and Pavun Shetty of Original Film, Jeff Kirschenbaum and Chris Morgan. Universal Television is producing the series, according to Deadline.
How the series lines up with Fast Forever
Peacock is targeting the series for 2028, the same year Universal has scheduled Fast Forever for release on 17 March. The film’s date is covered in tbreak’s report on Fast Forever. Peacock has not announced an exact premiere date for the show, and its title, plot and cast remain under wraps.
Does Peacock’s order confirm the other three Fast & Furious projects?
No. Current reporting confirms a series order for this project. Deadline says three additional projects were discussed as being in development, but it does not report series orders for them.
Has Vin Diesel been cast in the Peacock series?
No cast has been announced. Diesel is attached as an executive producer, but that does not confirm an on-screen role.
