Pretty Little Liars actor Keegan Allen says two masked men robbed him at gunpoint and knifepoint outside a West Hollywood grocery store on Thursday evening, and he has posted a bloody video of the aftermath online.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the robbery on Friday, according to NBC News. Allen had just returned to his vehicle from Laurel Supply on Santa Monica Boulevard when two men confronted him. In the department’s words, one suspect pointed a silver handgun while the other held a knife and demanded his watch and bracelet. Investigators say the victim was then struck in the face with the handgun, and the suspects fled in an unknown vehicle with the watch.
What Allen said
In the video he shared, Allen has blood on his face and left arm. “I was just robbed of my watch outside of Laurel Supply,” he says in the footage, asking someone to call the police. His Instagram caption reads, “West Hollywood is not safe anymore.”
IGN reports on the video and his caption, in which Allen says the men threatened to kill him over the watch.
Injuries and investigation
The sheriff’s department says Allen suffered a laceration to his forehead but wasn’t hospitalised. FOX 11 Los Angeles reports the attack happened around 9 p.m. near Santa Monica Boulevard and Olive Drive, and that early reports on the Citizen app described the stolen watch as a Rolex. That detail comes from app reports, not from police.
Detectives are “actively investigating”, the department said, and will send additional patrols to the area. No arrests have been announced, and the suspects are described only as two masked men.
