Lego has opened its first Lego Ideas challenge that combines Marvel and Star Wars, inviting fans to build crossover vehicles, characters, and scenes for a chance to see their design become an official set. Variety reports that the company announced it at New York Comic Con on Saturday.
Builders can enter in three categories: vehicles, characters, and scenes. That could mean a spacecraft fitted with superhero tech, heroes and Star Wars characters sharing a build, or an entirely new setting that merges both universes. Submissions run through the Lego Ideas platform, and fan voting begins on 8 December. Lego will announce the grand prize selections in 2027, and winning designs can then be developed into official products.
Lego hasn’t confirmed a release window for the resulting set. Brick Fanatics notes that the challenge page hadn’t gone live when it published, and that the company ties the project to the 50th anniversary of Star Wars.
Both Disney-owned franchises are long-running Lego lines. Variety says the Star Wars partnership dates back to 1999, while the Marvel range has brought Spider-Man, Iron Man, and the Avengers into brick form. This is the first time the two have shared a Lego Ideas challenge.

Fede Begher, Senior Vice President and Head of Product Group at the Lego Group, called the challenge “a milestone for Lego Ideas and our fan community”. Kevin Smith, who writes the upcoming Star Wars/Marvel: Hope Assembles comic series, said it reflects “the same spirit of creativity” as the book. That five-issue comic launches in January 2027 and brings the Star Wars universe into Marvel’s main continuity, according to Brick Fanatics’ earlier reporting.
The crossover also fits a busy stretch for both brands on tbreak: Marvel recently announced the spy thriller Zodiac for Disney+, and its Ahsoka: Escape From Thrawn comic already ties into the Star Wars side of the Disney family.
