Dubai Holding Entertainment is preparing a new theme park, a roller coaster at Global Village, and further attractions across its destinations, CEO Fernando Eiroa has said. He gave no name, location or date for the park.
In an interview with Gulf News during the seasonal reopening of Dubai Parks and Resorts, Eiroa said the company will add “new experiences and a new park in the near future”. He added that he can’t disclose details until the company is ready to talk to the public. Of the next few months’ additions, he said they are “very complementary and in high demand”.
Global Village gets a roller coaster
Eiroa confirmed a new roller coaster and “multiple new attractions” at Global Village this year. He acknowledged that some plans have been delayed, and he gave no opening date for the ride. Global Village will also change its shows each season, with new concerts, restaurants, food and beverage outlets, and country pavilions. Further announcements are due soon.
Vendor registration for the destination’s next season opened in August, as we covered in our Global Village Season 31 F&B registration story.
What’s new at Dubai Parks and Resorts
The company is starting with Dubai Parks and Resorts, where Eiroa listed new shows at Motiongate Dubai and 14 new attractions at Riverland. He named these additions:
- Lamborghini driving simulators, which he said are about to open
- A space-themed bowling alley with arcade games
- An expanded go-kart track
- New restaurants
Our earlier coverage of the October 7 reopening includes Riverland details, and ticket prices start at Dh25.

Eiroa also pointed to T-REX Glamping as a sign of the company’s push into hospitality. It opened briefly last year, and he said it is “new” this year. In a Gulf Business interview last November, he described the concept as a dinosaur-themed retreat with 65 tents, private plunge pools and park access included. “Hospitality is going to be a very important part of our future,” he told Gulf News.
Competition and demand
Eiroa framed the plans against growing rivals in Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia. His answer was to respond quickly to customer feedback, refresh the offering every year, and sell season passes and bundled attractions.
He expects a strong season despite recent travel and flight disruption, though the mix may shift. “Maybe the demand is going to be different than other years, and we’ll have maybe more local visitors,” he said. He declined to give a 2027 visitor target, saying the company typically doesn’t share numbers, but called the Global Village reopening “very, very successful”.
