Xbox Insiders can now record party chat in their game captures, sort achievements their own way, restore older cloud saves from the console and grow their wishlist to 1,000 games. The features were announced on 5 August on Xbox Wire, with most arriving first for Alpha Skip-Ahead members.
Chat audio in captures
Alpha Skip-Ahead Insiders can now choose whether party chat is included in their recordings. Each player controls whether their own voice can be captured, so audio only lands in a clip when everyone in the party opts in. Not in a party? Game chat can be switched into captures the same way.
The opt-in is the detail worth keeping: capture of other people’s voices without consent would be a privacy headache, and Microsoft has quietly sidestepped it.
Achievement sorting
Achievement history gains sorting options beyond the default “last played” view. Games can now be ordered by name, completion percentage, Gamerscore earned or number of Achievements unlocked, in ascending or descending order. For anyone chasing 100 per cent completion, this is the update’s quiet win.
Cloud saves you can restore
Cloud saves get a restore option. Insiders can already browse previously synced versions and roll an earlier save back directly from the console, and the rollout widens to more players next week. Forza Horizon 6 is the first supported title — via Manage game & add-ons, then Saved data, then Restore saved data — with more games promised in future updates.
This is the one with real consequences. Cloud saves have long been a take-it-or-leave-it single version; being able to walk a corrupted or lost save back to an earlier state removes a familiar panic.
Wishlists grow to 1,000
The wishlist cap rises to 1,000 games for every Xbox player, with no Insider ring required. It applies immediately, which is either generosity or a realistic read on how wishlists accumulate.
When the rest of us get it
As with all Insider previews, timings shift: features that survive testing reach the public console update later this year. The wishlist expansion is live now, cloud save restore follows for players next week, and the capture and achievement work stays behind the Insider door for now.
