Xbox Insiders can choose classic Xbox startup animations while testing local search, higher-quality Remote Play and clearer voice chat, with the features rolling out first to Microsoft’s preview programme.
Xbox custom boot animation options
The new Xbox custom boot animation setting is under Settings > System > Startup. Xbox Insiders can select the original Xbox One boot screen, the Xbox One X animation, the Xbox Series X|S startup or the newer “We Are Xbox” animation. The original Xbox and Xbox 360 sequences are not included.
The setting also controls whether the startup sound plays. It is a small change, but it gives the console one more way to remember which generation you bought it in.
Search, Remote Play and Voice Clarity
Microsoft’s local search feature finds games and achievements in My games & apps, official club achievement lists and profile achievement history. It works alongside the existing filters and sorting tools, according to the official Xbox announcement.
Remote Play on Xbox Series X|S can reach up to 1440p with higher video bitrates during testing, provided the device and network support it. The feature streams from the Xbox console to PCs, phones, TVs and other supported devices without an additional subscription.
Xbox Cloud Gaming users can also keep downloads running in the background while streaming when network conditions allow. Downloads can still throttle automatically when needed.
Voice Clarity is available for testing on Xbox Series X|S. It reduces everyday background noise and is enabled by default in party chat and most games released since 2020. Players can manage it under Settings > General > Volume & audio output > Additional options.
The official Xbox announcement says the features are being tested by Xbox Insiders, while The Verge reports that broader availability will follow the Insider rollout. Microsoft has not given a wider release date or a UAE-specific timetable.
Existing Xbox owners in the UAE will need to wait for the preview features to expand beyond the Insider programme. Microsoft’s Xbox Insider Hub is available for Xbox consoles and Windows PCs, but joining the programme does not guarantee that every test feature appears on every device.
