Xbox Game Pass has announced its second wave of games for August, and three of them are day-one releases. Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy leads the line-up on August 27, with Blood Dungeon and Vapor World: Over the Mind arriving earlier in the month.
The wave follows the first, which brought the Gears of War: E-Day open beta, and was detailed on Xbox Wire on August 18. Six more titles join the Game Pass Premium tier across the month, and an incremental game about a turtle arrives on September 1.
The Xbox Game Pass day-one games
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy (August 27) is the third A Plague Tale game from Asobo Studio and Focus Entertainment, and the least Plague Tale of the three. GameSpot’s hands-on describes a game that barely resembles the series’ medieval France: the heroine fights with sword and dagger, the score is Greek-Cypriot, and the plague is traded for a minotaur and a labyrinth. It is also on Steam and PS5; Game Pass members get it at no extra cost.
Blood Dungeon (August 25) comes from the creators of Nidhogg: a 2D platforming survival game where you parkour through dungeons, kite monsters, gather blood and spend bones at the Bone Shop. Vapor World: Over the Mind (August 19) is a narrative-driven souls-like platformer built around deflection combat, launching through the Game Preview programme.
The Premium additions
Egging On — a game about being a fragile egg escaping a henhouse — is available now. BlazBlue Entropy Effect X, Relooted, Starsand Island and Aerial Knight’s DropShot follow between August 19 and 25, and Young Suns, a narrative life sim set after a revolution on Jupiter, completes its 1.0 release on August 31.
Shelldiver lands on September 1: an incremental game about a turtle fishing jellyfish and selling them at a little shop.
Leaving the library
Five games leave on August 31, including The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition, and NBA 2K26 exits on September 6.
