An Xbox store listing has players wondering whether Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is about to follow the first game onto Microsoft’s console. Power Up Gaming reports that the Xbox store hub for Death Stranding: Director’s Cut shows an upcoming event called “BEYOND THE STRAND”. It runs from 30 October to 20 December 2026 and carries “announcement” and “world event” tags. Kojima Productions hasn’t announced an Xbox version of the sequel, and the listing doesn’t name one.

A familiar name with an official explanation

The title matches an event the studio has already confirmed. On its own site, Kojima Productions lists “BEYOND THE STRAND: The Odyssey of Creation and Endeavor” as its 10th anniversary exhibition. It runs from 31 October to 20 December 2026, with preview tickets required from 31 October to 3 November. The venue is Azabudai Hills Gallery in Tokyo. The studio describes never-before-seen production materials, immersive installations and video installations made for the show.

Power Up Gaming itself says the store entry seems to reference the exhibition. The dates line up closely, though the Xbox entry starts a day earlier than the exhibition’s official opening. Nothing on the exhibition page ties the show to a console release.

Why Xbox players are watching

The hope has a precedent. Death Stranding: Director’s Cut shadow-dropped on Xbox Series X/S in November 2024, about five years after the PS4 original, and Kojima Productions announced nothing beforehand. Power Up Gaming says the studio had acquired the rights to the franchise by then, which removed Sony’s hold over where the games could appear.

The sequel has taken a similar path so far. Power Up Gaming says it launched on PS5 in June 2025 and reached PC earlier this year, while Kojima Productions hasn’t commented on an Xbox port since launch. Kojima Productions has an Xbox link elsewhere, since Beebom notes that its horror project OD is developed with Xbox Game Studios.

Power Up Gaming also points to last year’s use of the name. In 2025, the studio aired a “BEYOND THE STRAND” livestream with updates on several upcoming games. The outlet says there’s a good chance something Death Stranding-related will be unveiled within weeks, but Kojima Productions hasn’t confirmed a repeat livestream. That’s the outlet’s read of the listing’s tags, not a studio statement.

What to watch next

The exhibition’s opening on 31 October is the first date to watch, along with the studio’s official channels. Until the studio names the game and the platform, the only confirmed versions of the sequel are on PS5 and PC. Kojima Productions has been busy elsewhere too, from the Death Stranding film’s second script draft to a gaming tablet built with ROG, so a quiet week on the Xbox front wouldn’t mean the studio is idle. Hideo Kojima has also been vocal on platform shifts, as in his comments about PlayStation dropping discs.

Is Death Stranding 2 confirmed for Xbox?

No. Kojima Productions hasn’t announced an Xbox version, and Power Up Gaming reports that the only evidence is an event listing on the first game’s Xbox hub.

What can I play on Xbox now?

Power Up Gaming says Death Stranding: Director’s Cut has been available on Xbox Series X/S since November 2024. The sequel is on PS5 and PC.

Is the Xbox listing connected to the Tokyo exhibition?

Kojima Productions hasn’t said. The names match and both end on 20 December 2026, but the studio’s exhibition page doesn’t mention the Xbox listing.
