Ray-Ban Meta Audio launches at $349 with 12-hour battery

Meta has introduced Ray-Ban Meta Audio, a camera-free pair of smart glasses starting at $349, alongside a new Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) and expanded AI features for its glasses range.

The official Meta announcement says Ray-Ban Meta Audio is the company’s first audio-only glasses. The Bloomberg report puts the launch in the wider context of Meta’s Connect hardware expansion, which also includes camera-equipped models.

Ray-Ban Meta Audio: price, battery and design

The glasses weigh 43g and offer up to 12 hours of listening, calls and hands-free conversations on a single charge. The included case provides up to another 48 hours. They are available in Clubmaster and Burbank styles, with 23 colour and lens combinations and support for a wide range of optical prescriptions.

Ray-Ban Meta Audio glasses use speakers and microphones rather than cameras. That makes them a more straightforward option for people who want open-ear audio, calls and Meta AI without wearing earbuds or adding a camera to their face. Meta says the glasses can capture a wearer’s voice more clearly than earbuds, although that is a company claim rather than an independent test result.

Pre-orders open from $349 in the US, with shipping scheduled for October 13. Meta lists Ray-Ban Meta Audio for several European markets, but not the UAE, so there is no confirmed local price or release date for the audio-only model.

Muse comes to Meta’s glasses

Meta is also bringing Muse, its personal AI agent, to the glasses platform. The company describes Muse as a way to manage tasks, build plans and interact with services without reaching for a phone. Its availability and functionality will depend on the software rollout and supported markets. Meta says Muse is currently available in the US, Canada and Mexico, with more markets coming soon.

For UAE shoppers, the wider Meta Glasses range is now available from AED 1,160, while Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) starts at AED 1,960. Meta says the UAE already had Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) and Oakley Meta, but this is the first local launch of Meta Glasses themselves.

The launch follows Meta Connect 2026 coverage and comes as Meta continues adding software controls to its wearables. Earlier, Meta changed how Ray-Ban glasses handle recording when the capture light is obstructed. The camera-free Audio model avoids that particular recording concern, but it still carries microphones and speakers, so it is not a privacy-free version of the product.

Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) adds up to nine hours of battery life, a customisable action button and a six-microphone array that Meta says cuts more than 90% of background noise. It will come in 27 colour and lens combinations across Aviator, Zena and Wayfarer styles. Meta says its wider range will exceed 100 options across Ray-Ban, Oakley and Meta Glasses by the end of the year.

Are Ray-Ban Meta Audio glasses camera-free?

Yes. Ray-Ban Meta Audio is an audio-only model with speakers and microphones, rather than the cameras used by camera-equipped Ray-Ban Meta glasses.

Are Ray-Ban Meta Audio glasses available in the UAE?

Meta has not announced UAE pricing or availability in its launch announcement, so a local release date and AED price remain unconfirmed.

Who should consider Ray-Ban Meta Audio instead of Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3?

Ray-Ban Meta Audio is the more direct fit for people who want open-ear audio and hands-free AI without a camera. Gen 3 is the broader option for people who want camera features as well.
