What happened to PSN?
PSN access became intermittent at around 12 pm BST on 24 July 2026, blocking some players from signing into the Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls open beta. Video Games Chronicle’s report documented players encountering error code WS-116486-6 on PS5 shortly after the test opened.
PlayStation’s support documentation describes WS-116486-6 as meaning that “there was an issue connecting to the server.” The support site was itself loading intermittently during the incident, while UK reports collected by Downdetector rose from around midday.
The available evidence points to degraded or irregular access rather than a confirmed total outage. Some players said they could connect after several attempts, and the rate of new Downdetector reports began to decline.
The official Marvel Tōkon account acknowledged the problems and directed players to its Discord for updates. At the time of VGC’s report, PlayStation Support had not publicly addressed the incident or identified a cause.
Is the Marvel Tōkon beta open?
The Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls open beta is scheduled to run from 24 to 26 July 2026 on PS5 and PC. It is the first broadly available opportunity for the public to play the game on PC, following earlier, more limited test phases.
The test includes 15 playable characters, including Blade, and six stages, including NYC Night. Its online lobby supports casual and ranked matches, while a local Versus mode provides offline battles.
PC access is available through Steam and Epic Games Store, but players must sign into PSN. That dependency means a PSN authentication problem can prevent access on PC as well as PS5, even if the game client and the player’s own connection are otherwise functioning.
The full game is scheduled for release on 6 August 2026 for PS5 and PC. Marvel’s platform announcement lists the PC versions for Steam and Epic Games Store.
