Marvel Studios has confirmed the Ghost Rider release date: July 28, 2028, ending months of a year-wide 2028 window with a firm date.

Ghost Rider release date: July 28, 2028

The film was announced at San Diego Comic-Con in July, alongside Black Panther 3, which was given a December 15 date on the spot. Ghost Rider only got a year. The studio’s updated calendar now settles it: the Ghost Rider release date lands two months after the MCU’s first X-Men film, which opens May 5, 2028.

The three films are expected to be the whole theatrical slate for 2028 — a reset year. IGN reports the trio is meant to follow Avengers: Secret Wars, which Marvel has positioned as a new entry point into the MCU. Shuri and M’Baku are confirmed for Black Panther 3, a sign some current continuity survives whatever comes next, per Marvel’s official page.

Who stars in Ghost Rider

Ryan Gosling plays the lead, having made the case for the role himself over the past few years — Kevin Feige confirmed the casting at Comic-Con and has said Gosling pitched the film and brought in Shawn Levy to direct after their work together on Star Wars: Starfighter. Gosling’s interest was never exactly a secret: he spent years pitching his vision for the character before the role was his.

Filming is expected to begin early next year, so concrete plot details are still a way off. As with other Marvel Studios releases, UAE cinemas are expected to carry Ghost Rider around the same time as the global rollout; a local release date gets confirmed closer to the film’s arrival.
