Marvel will show a new Avengers: Doomsday preview during Game 1 of the MLB World Series tonight, Friday, October 23. MLB and Marvel announced it in an Instagram post on Thursday, October 22, and IGN reports that MLB has confirmed it as an exclusive sneak peek.
The game airs at 8PM ET on FOX, between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Milwaukee Brewers. That’s roughly 4AM on Saturday in the UAE and 3AM in Saudi Arabia, so most of us will be watching the reupload rather than the broadcast. IGN says MLB hasn’t given an exact time for the preview. The site guesses it could land later in the game to keep viewers tuned in.

Nobody has confirmed whether this is a fresh trailer or an extended clip from the film. ComicBookMovie.com says current speculation points to a clip rather than a trailer. It links that theory to a promo on the Fantastic Four Instagram account, which suggests a long-rumoured baseball scene could be the one shown. Marvel hasn’t confirmed any of that. IGN expects the footage to appear online afterwards, either through official Marvel channels or as a fan upload.
The preview also arrives as Marvel’s plot reveals pick up. IGN notes that the recent Avengers: Endgame re-release ended with new scenes in which Doctor Doom abducts Hulk and the TVA watches incursions tear the multiverse apart. We covered what that footage means for the Doomsday plot when it surfaced. The studio has otherwise kept the story tightly guarded, though the official synopsis does promise a multiversal story across three universes.
The timing is useful for Marvel, because Avengers: Doomsday opens on December 18 against Dune: Part Three. IGN says Dune has the benefit of exclusive IMAX screens. It adds that speculation about a later IMAX release for Doomsday, as happened with Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is growing. Interest looks strong already, since the film is ahead of Spider-Man: Brand New Day in early ticket sales. A prime-time slot during one of America’s biggest sports broadcasts puts the film in front of a large audience two months before release.
