Peckham’s involvement remains a source-based report
Lydia Peckham is reported to have joined the film, but Nintendo and Sony have not confirmed her casting on the record. Deadline reports that Peckham has reunited with director Wes Ball, citing unnamed sources, while studio representatives declined to comment and Peckham’s representatives could not be reached.
Her character has not been disclosed, and the film’s plot remains under wraps. The casting would reunite the New Zealand actress with Ball after she appeared in 2024’s Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.
Peckham has also completed shooting The Kennedys, in which she plays Rosemary Kennedy. Her other recent credits include Nuremberg, Robin Hood, and The Wrecking Crew.
The ensemble is emerging after production wrapped
The film’s cast is becoming public after production wrapped in April 2026. Nintendo had previously announced Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link and Bo Bragason as Princess Zelda, but further names were closely guarded until the latest run of reports.
Peckham’s reported involvement follows several other casting disclosures. Sam Neill, Dichen Lachman, and Yvonne Strahovski were reported as cast members, with Lachman said to play Impa and Strahovski attached to an unspecified queen role. Neill’s character has not been disclosed.
Uli Latukefu is also reported to be playing Ganondorf. Together, the reports provide a broader outline of the ensemble, but the absence of studio announcements means the newly disclosed castings remain source-based rather than formally confirmed.
The timing also clarifies that these reports concern roles filmed before production ended. They do not signal that new filming has begun or establish how large any of the undisclosed roles will be.
The May 2027 release still has major blanks
The Legend of Zelda is slated for theatrical release on May 7, 2027, with its plot still under wraps. Wes Ball is directing from a draft by T.S. Nowlin, while Shigeru Miyamoto and Avi Arad are producing.
Sony co-financed the project with Nintendo and is distributing the film. Beyond the two leads and the character details attached to Impa, Ganondorf, and Strahovski’s queen, the shape of the adaptation remains largely undisclosed.
The film draws on a game series created by Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka that has sold more than 150 million units since 1986. The recent casting reports offer a clearer picture of who may populate its version of Hyrule, but Peckham’s place in that story remains one of the production’s guarded details.
