Lotus has launched the Emira 420 Sport, a 421 PS flagship that claims 300 km/h and the title of world’s fastest four-cylinder production car. It is the first new model to arrive under AGMC’s UAE distribution, which the Albatha Group-owned dealer took on in June.
The fastest four-cylinder production car
Under the bonnet sits a tuned 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder (AMG-derived) producing 416 bhp (421 PS) and 500 Nm, sent to the rear wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox with revised calibration. Lotus quotes 0–100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, 0–200 km/h in 12.47 seconds and a standing quarter mile of 11.91 seconds. The 300 km/h top speed is what earns the “fastest four-cylinder production car” claim.
Lighter, lower, more downforce
The Sport badge follows Lotus tradition — Esprit Sport 300, Elise Sport 220, Exige Sport 380 — and brings the expected weight and aero work. The chassis sits 5 mm lower, and the optional Lightweight Handling Pack adds Multimatic two-way adjustable dampers while cutting up to 25 kg via a titanium exhaust, lithium-ion battery and carbon fibre louvred tailgate.
Aero changes (front splitter, side sills, enlarged intakes, rear lip spoiler) add 25 kg of downforce with no drag penalty. Radiator airflow is up 15 per cent, and airflow through the exhaust valve rises 30 per cent, both aimed at sustained track use. A Lotus Track Pro app handles lap timing and telemetry.
It is also the first Emira offered with exposed exterior carbon fibre, with the launch colour Tangelo Orange continuing Lotus’s orange habit. Inside: black Nappa leather, perforated Alcantara, carbon gearshift paddles.
UAE availability and price
The Emira 420 Sport tops the Model Year 2027 Emira range above the Turbo, Turbo SE and V6 SE, and a removable tinted glass roof panel is coming across the line-up. AGMC will announce UAE pricing, ordering and delivery details “in due course” — global pricing starts at $122,900 (£105,900), with deliveries beginning August 2026. For scale, the standard Emira lists from around AED 315,000 in the UAE.
Dr. Andreas Schaaf, Group Director at Albatha Group, said the model brings together “more power, less weight, sharper aerodynamics and the usability to be enjoyed beyond the circuit”. It is the first concrete sign of what the AGMC deal, and the three planned sales facilities in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah, will actually sell.
