Farizon Auto and Careem say a Farizon electric van carried a 690kg block of ice 19km from Al Quoz to Aquaventure World in Dubai, with the cargo intact after a journey in reported 40°C heat. The trip took place on 2 October, according to the announcement.

The announcement says the Farizon SV Chiller kept its cargo bay between 0°C and 5°C while running the refrigeration unit and drivetrain from one battery. It reportedly finished the route with more than 95% charge remaining.

Demonstration detailFigure reported by Farizon and Careem
Route19km, Al Quoz to Aquaventure World
Ice load690kg
Outside temperature40°C
Cargo-bay temperature0–5°C
Charge remaining at arrivalMore than 95%

The Farizon electric van’s reported charge figure is difficult to compare with a normal delivery shift: the release does not give its starting charge, route data or refrigeration energy use. The trip is a single demonstration, not a published fleet trial.

Farizon electric van: a cold-chain test, not a fleet rollout

The release says the delivery began after Careem listed blocks of ice for residential pools and Aquaventure World challenged the company to deliver ice for its 23-million-litre pool. The route ran from Artisan Ice Co in Al Quoz to Atlantis, The Palm.

“What Farizon has shown is that it can be done electrically, at this scale, in September heat,”

Adeeb Warsi, chief operating officer at Careem

Warsi’s comment describes Careem’s view of the trip. The announcement does not say that the SV Chiller has entered routine Careem service or report results from repeated routes.

What the delivery says about UAE fleet use

In October 2025, Jameel Motors and Careem announced a plan to support electrification of Careem’s middle-mile delivery operations, with the companies saying the network could serve more than 20,000 merchants. This ice run puts a refrigerated load into that broader partnership, but it does not confirm a fleet order or rollout.

Careem has also expanded its consumer delivery options, including Box XL for larger car-based deliveries in Dubai. The Farizon run is a different proposition: a commercial chiller van carrying a heavy, temperature-sensitive load.

For UAE fleet operators, the test shows a specific use case under hot conditions, not the vehicle’s daily range, operating cost or performance across a full shift. Those questions need repeat-route data, including the battery’s starting charge and the refrigeration system’s energy draw.

Does the 95% arrival charge show how far the Farizon SV Chiller can travel?

No. The release gives the 19km route and the charge remaining at arrival, but not the starting charge or the amount of battery used by refrigeration. It is not enough data to estimate a full-charge range.

Does the 690kg test load show the van’s maximum payload?

No. The release reports the ice block’s weight, not the SV Chiller’s rated payload or how much capacity remained. A load carried in one demonstration should not be treated as the vehicle’s maximum.
