Huawei has confirmed China pricing for the Huawei Pura X View, its flat-screen phone with a wide 16:9.5 display and a 7,000mAh battery. Pre-orders and sales begin on September 9, with prices starting at 5,999 yuan for the 12GB RAM and 256GB model.
Huawei Pura X View price and release date
Huawei will sell the phone in three storage configurations in China. The 12GB + 256GB model costs 5,999 yuan, the 12GB + 512GB version costs 6,999 yuan, and the 12GB + 1TB model costs 8,499 yuan, according to Huawei Central. Huawei has not announced a UAE price or release date.
The phone goes on sale on September 9. Early buyers in China also get five purchase gifts, while students can receive discounts worth up to 944 yuan. Huawei will sell two cases separately: a 129-yuan vegan leather magnetic case and a 469-yuan pen box-style case for a stylus.
Huawei Pura X View uses a wide 16:9.5 display
The Pura X View has a 6.39-inch OLED display with a 2,232 × 1,320 resolution, 1.05mm bezels and a 96.1% screen-to-body ratio. Its 16:9.5 shape is wider than the tall panels used by most conventional smartphones, giving videos, games, books and documents more horizontal space.
Huawei Central says the panel reaches 6,500 nits peak brightness and uses 2,160Hz PWM dimming. The phone is 6.68mm thick and weighs 201g, with four colours: Shadow Red, Linen Grey, Zero White and Phantom Black.
The phone is powered by Huawei’s Kirin 9030S chipset and runs HarmonyOS 7. Its camera system includes a 200MP RYYB main camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. The battery is rated at 7,000mAh and supports 100W wired charging.
The earlier Huawei Pura X Max used a related passport-style foldable design. The Pura X View keeps the wider format but puts it into a conventional flat phone, which is less complicated to explain and presumably to unfold.
