Apple has published a behind-the-scenes look at “From Earth to Sky”, a runway show staged in Türkiye’s Cappadocia that the designer sketched on an iPad Pro and the filmmaker shot on the iPhone 18 Pro Max. In its Newsroom post, Apple says the collection celebrates 15 years of the Istanbul-based lifestyle brand Les Benjamins and showcases Apple’s pro hardware.
Three flowers, 10 looks, three balloons
According to Apple, designer Bünyamin Aydın began the project on a research trip to Cappadocia in early 2026, recording the terrain on an iPad Pro, an Apple Pencil Pro and an iPhone 17 Pro Max. Three native flowers (spiky green Echinops, pink trumpet-shaped blooms and wild yellow tulips) drove the collection’s 10 looks and the colours of three custom hot-air balloons that float over Rose Valley during the show.
Apple says Aydın collected photos, fabric references and early drawings as mood boards in Freeform so his team could follow the process. He then used Procreate on an M5 iPad Pro to draw one balloon and iterate it into dozens of variations until three remained. The balloons had to fly, so Aydın sent sketches to Pasha Balloons, a Cappadocian balloon maker, whose engineers reviewed them and returned technical drawings that Aydın revised in Procreate.
The Pencil Pro’s hover preview allowed him to see a stroke before committing to it. Aydın, who describes his approach as “German discipline and Turkish heart”, told Apple the tablet never slowed down on high-resolution, multi-layer files.
Shot on iPhone 18 Pro Max
French filmmaker Neels Castillon filmed the show, and Apple’s account leans on the new phone’s camera hardware. The 48MP Fusion Main camera’s variable aperture let the crew start in pre-dawn light and narrow the aperture as the sun rose, while Pro controls such as histogram and white balance kept multiple cameras consistent as the sky shifted from pink to blue.
Custom-built drones each carried two iPhone 18 Pro Max units, using the 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide cameras to fit the balloons in frame. Apple says Castillon shot 4K at 120 fps for slow-motion fabric shots, used a slower shutter for painterly motion blur on drone passes, and recorded in ProRes RAW for grading. Stills used the texture and grain controls in Photographic Styles 3. The creator reviewed footage on location on a MacBook Pro with M4 Max, whose nano-texture display cuts sun glare.
Where can I watch “From Earth to Sky”?
Apple says the film is available on its @apple channel from 14 October. 9to5Mac reports that Apple’s Instagram account is carrying it, and the Newsroom page also hosts behind-the-scenes video and photos.
Which Apple devices were used to make it?
According to Apple, Aydın designed it with an M5 iPad Pro, Apple Pencil Pro, Procreate and Freeform, while Castillon filmed on an iPhone 18 Pro Max and reviewed footage on a MacBook Pro with M4 Max.
