Apple’s first touchscreen MacBook Pro could go on sale on 6 November, according to the latest report, roughly ten days after the unveiling we flagged in our earlier story on a 27 October launch. The two dates aren’t rivals. One marks the rumoured announcement and the other the rumoured day shoppers can buy it. Apple hasn’t confirmed either.

The 6 November date comes from Bloomberg’s Power On newsletter, as relayed by 9to5Mac. Mark Gurman says Apple plans a retail “reset” on the evening of Thursday 5 November into Friday 6 November, which implies new signage and products on store tables. He reasons that this Friday falls a week after the Mac announcements, when Apple would typically release products, so at least some of the new items could become available then. 9to5Mac adds that no other Apple release is scheduled for that date, and that it would complete four straight weeks of launches, including the iPhone Duo and HomePod mini 2.

Gurman has been circling this window for a while. On his podcast, he said Apple would introduce the machine in autumn, as early as October, with a slip to November possible, which we covered in our OLED MacBook Pro release date post. The 6 November report narrows that range, though a store reset shows when Apple changes its displays, not what goes on sale.

What the redesign is reported to include

The screen is the headline. 9to5Mac says the redesigned MacBook Pro will use a Tandem OLED panel, the stacked-layer technology found in the iPad Pro. Reports also point to a Dynamic Island, slightly smaller than the iPhone’s.

Apple appears to be preparing the software too. 9to5Mac points to touch support for Sidecar, pull-to-refresh, and slightly larger menu bar items in the macOS 27 betas. Bloomberg’s Gurman reported in February that touching a control would open a menu around the user’s finger with touch-relevant options. The interface would also show controls based on prior use, and tapping a menu bar item would enlarge its controls for fingertip use.

The chips are the unexpected part. 9to5Mac says Apple is skipping the M6 Pro and M6 Max, so the first 2nm chips won’t make it into this redesign, and the laptop will use the M5 Pro and M5 Max already in the current lineup. On the body, 9to5Mac says the chassis is expected to be slightly slimmer and lighter, and Bloomberg has reported the machines will be “significantly lighter” thanks to re-engineered internals.

Apple hasn’t announced UAE availability or pricing for any OLED model, and the current M5 Pro MacBook Pro remains the one listed locally.

Will the touchscreen MacBook Pro have Face ID?

No. 9to5Mac says the Dynamic Island is expected, but Face ID isn’t.

Is there a UAE price for the touchscreen MacBook Pro?

Not yet. Apple hasn’t announced the laptop, so there’s no UAE date or AED price to compare against the current M5 Pro model.
