Rise of the Ronin and Avatar Headline July’s PS Plus Game Catalog: Every Title and Date

Sony's July PS Plus Game Catalog adds Rise of the Ronin and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora for Extra and Premium, plus two PS2 classics for Premium.

This is a genuinely strong month for anyone paying for the middle and top tiers of PlayStation’s subscription, and the reason is simple: two big PS5 titles that would normally cost real money are now bundled in. Rise of the Ronin and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora are the pair carrying July, and neither is a filler port. Sony announced the line-up through its official channels, and Video Games Chronicle has the full breakdown.

What’s headlining July’s Game Catalog?

Rise of the Ronin and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora are the two marquee additions, and both are PS5-only. Rise of the Ronin is a combat-focused open-world action RPG from Team Ninja, the studio behind Nioh and Ninja Gaiden, set in war-torn 19th-century Japan during the collapse of the Tokugawa Shogunate in 1863. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, meanwhile, is Ubisoft’s first-person open-world action-adventure in which you play a Na’vi trained by the human RDA corporation, reclaiming your heritage and fighting to protect Pandora fifteen years later.

Getting a Team Ninja PS5 title and a full-fat Ubisoft open-worlder into the catalog in the same month is the kind of value that justifies the Extra step-up. Both are the sort of games people were actively buying, not clearing off a backlog.

Which tier do you need, and when does each game arrive?

Every game listed below is available to PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers, while the two PS2 Classics Catalog titles are Premium-only. The staggered dates run across the second half of the month rather than dropping all at once.

The rest of the line-up spreads the appeal wide. Firefighting Simulator: Ignite is a co-op firefighting sim built on Unreal Engine 5, Dying Light brings Techland’s parkour zombie survival to the catalog, and Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector delivers a dice-driven narrative RPG. There’s a 2D Power Rangers brawler in Rita’s Rewind and a 3D isometric revival of the decades-old Snow Bros. series in Snow Bros. Wonderland. Premium subscribers also get two PS2-era additions: the psychic action game Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy and Quantic Dream’s interactive thriller Indigo Prophecy, known as Fahrenheit in Europe.

One thing worth remembering: Game Catalog titles are yours to play only while they remain in the catalog and your subscription stays active, so these are not permanent additions to your library.
