Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 gets October release date and first teaser

Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 will premiere on October 30, 2026, on Paramount+, with the first teaser setting up a three-year time jump and a new problem for television’s favourite serial killer: competition.

IGN reports that the teaser shows Dexter Morgan dealing with his age, including the indignity of needing glasses, while continuing to hunt other killers. The Deadline report also confirms the October 30 premiere date.

Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 brings a three-year time jump

The new season moves forward three years. Dexter’s son Harrison is now 21 and working with the NYPD, putting him closer to his father’s activities and creating the sort of family arrangement that tends to complicate a quiet life.

Dexter is also facing two killers. Lucas Stark, known as the Five Borough Killer, is murdering one person in each New York borough and gaining attention that Dexter has always wanted for himself. Showrunner Clyde Phillips told Entertainment Weekly that Stark’s growing notoriety frustrates Dexter because “nobody knows who he is.”

The older threat is the New York Ripper, played by Brian Cox. The killer is ageing and uses calls to terrorise the families of his former victims. Gabriel Luna, Dan Stevens, Kane Hodder and Chris Jericho are also joining the returning cast, while Uma Thurman and Krysten Ritter are set to return.

Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 premieres on October 30, 2026, on Paramount+. Paramount’s own season guide has not yet added episode-by-episode details, so the teaser is doing most of the talking for now.
