WWE 2K26 will launch on March 13 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC, as reported by VGC, based on information shared by 2K Sports. The wrestling game marks the official retirement of last-gen versions, with special editions offering early access from March 6. The game promises the series’ largest roster with over 400 playable characters and introduces a new monetisation model through the Ringside Pass system.
Over 400 wrestlers and CM Punk showcase
WWE 2K26 boasts the largest roster in series history, featuring more than 400 playable characters spanning Raw, Smackdown, NXT, and WWE legends. New additions include Rey Fénix, Blake Monroe, and the returning Rusev.
The game’s showcase mode, titled ‘Punked’, focuses on CM Punk’s career with narration from the wrestler himself. Players will experience key moments and fantasy matches from Punk’s journey through interactive storytelling.
Four new match types join the roster: Three Stages of Hell, I Quit, Inferno, and Dumpster matches. Combat gets enhanced with new weapons including stackable tables, shopping carts, and thumbtacks.
Ringside Pass replaces traditional DLC
2K Sports is abandoning the previous DLC model in favour of a new Ringside Pass system, similar to battle passes in other games. Each season includes a free tier with 60 unlocks and a premium tier offering an additional 40 rewards.
Six seasons will run throughout the year, with unlocks including superstars, cosmetic items, VC currency, and content for MyFaction and The Island modes. Premium pass holders gain access to current superstars, legends, personas, and ‘unexpected names’.
The first season launches alongside the game, with the free tier providing superstars and legends previously locked behind the paid Supercharger feature.
Enhanced modes and gameplay systems
WWE 2K26 introduces significant improvements across all game modes. The reversals and stamina systems receive complete overhauls, whilst interactive entrances allow players to control their wrestler’s actions during their ring walk.
Commentary expands with Booker T and Wade Barrett joining the team. Create-a-Superstar doubles save slots from 100 to 200, increases image storage capacity to 2,000, and adds deeper morphing tools plus two-tone hair colour blending.
MyFaction adds intergender matches, Quick Swap match type, and Faction Chemistry with run-in support. MyGM mode now supports intergender matches and expanded match types including 5-, 6-, and 8-man contests.
