As reported by VGC, Square Enix has officially announced Life is Strange: Reunion, the final chapter for Max Caulfield and Chloe Price, launching 26 March for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. After some earlier leaks from a PEGI rating, it’s great to have confirmation.
A fiery start for Life is Strange Reunion
I’ve missed the unique dynamic of Max and Chloe, and developer Deck Nine is putting them right back into the fire — literally. The story for Life is Strange: Reunion finds Max working as a photography teacher at Caledon University. When a massive fire destroys the campus and kills her friends, she’s forced to use her signature rewind power to jump back three days and prevent the disaster.
The setup feels classic, a contained mystery with high emotional stakes. I can already feel the anxiety of trying to unravel a conspiracy against a ticking clock. But things get complicated when Chloe Price unexpectedly arrives, a repercussion from Max’s timeline meddling in Life is Strange: Double Exposure. Chloe is haunted by a past she never lived, and it looks like we’ll be dealing with the emotional fallout of two timelines at once.
Two sides to the story
What’s most interesting to me is that you’ll play as both characters. We’ll use Max’s rewind ability for those classic narrative puzzles, but we also get to use Chloe’s sharp-tongued ‘backtalk’ ability. This blend of mechanics should create a fascinating gameplay loop, forcing you to think about which character is best suited to tackle a situation. It’s not just about turning back time anymore; it’s about pushing forward with attitude, too.
This is the conclusion fans have wanted since the original game left us with an impossible choice. While Life is Strange 2 and True Colors were excellent in their own right, there was always a feeling of unfinished business with the series’ original duo. It’s a relief to know Deck Nine is committed to giving them a proper send-off, especially after all the speculation about Chloe’s return.
Editions and pricing
Life is Strange: Reunion will launch with three separate editions. While official UAE pricing isn’t confirmed, we can estimate based on the global prices. The Standard Edition ($39.99) will likely be around Dhs 149. The Deluxe Edition ($49.99), which includes digital extras like a soundtrack and art book, should be about Dhs 189. Finally, a physical Collector’s Edition ($99.99) with a vinyl soundtrack and other collectibles will be available exclusively from the Square Enix Store, likely costing around Dhs 369.
