When can you pre-order in the UAE?
Reports point to pre-orders opening on Saturday, 12 September, with devices on sale from Friday, 18 September. Apple has avoided 11 September for launches since 2001. One detail worth setting an alarm for: the pre-order window may open at midnight Pacific rather than the usual 5:00 AM, which would put it at 11:00 AM Dubai time instead of the 4:00 PM slot UAE buyers are used to. We will confirm the exact time here on the night.

One for the local buyers, buried in Apple’s footnotes: Hypertension Notifications will not be available in the UAE at launch on Series 12 or Ultra 4 — regulatory clearance is still in process, and Apple expects availability next year.
Readiness: a 0-10 score for how much you have in the tank
The headline feature is readiness: a single 0–10 score from your recent activity, training load, vitals and sleep, with a verdict of Recover, Pace Yourself, Ready or Go For It. It updates through the day. Heart rate is now sampled every five seconds all day, and HRV up to 24 times more often, split into recovery HRV and overall HRV.

The Dynamic Island is smaller and can now show three Live Activities at once, with Face ID intact. iOS 27 ships free on Monday 14 September, with Apple Intelligence and Siri AI (beta, English first) the same day.
It delivers higher quality heart rate data, 60x more frequent than before.
Battery: 45 hours of video on the Pro Max
eSIM-only models get up to 36 hours of video playback on the 18 Pro and 45 hours on the 18 Pro Max — Apple’s biggest battery jump on an iPhone. The UAE is on the eSIM-only list, so that is the version we get. Five minutes of wired charging on the Pro Max is good for about seven hours of video.
A20 Pro on 2nm, plus a much bigger vapour chamber
A20 Pro is built on 2nm: 6-core CPU with Neural Accelerators, a 7-core GPU up to 40% faster than A19 Pro, 50% more memory bandwidth and a dual 16-core Neural Engine. The vapour chamber has three times the surface area of the 17 Pro’s, which Apple credits for up to 40% better sustained performance. Also inside: the N1 wireless chip (Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, Thread) and the new C2 modem.
Apple Reference Image signs every pixel
New: Apple Reference Image. Shoot in Reference mode and the sensor signs the pixels, with Private Cloud Compute developing an unalterable reference image you can compare against the edited shot — a digital negative. Opt-in, and Apple says SynthID support for AI-edited images follows later this year.
Variable aperture arrives on the 48MP Main camera
The headline camera change is real: a 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture, six laser-cut blades moving between four aperture settings, with manual control in a new Pro controls panel alongside shutter speed, white balance and a histogram. Cinematic effects can now be applied after capture at up to 60fps, and Time-lapse records in 4K Dolby Vision HDR.
UAE pricing: iPhone 18 Pro from AED 5,099
Official UAE pricing: iPhone 18 Pro from AED 5,099 and iPhone 18 Pro Max from AED 5,499, in 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB. That is the same starting price as last year’s 17 Pro Max, and well below the AED 5,950–6,350 the analyst forecasts pointed to. Apple Trade In gives AED 640 to AED 3,260 for an iPhone 13 or later.

Ten minutes until Tim Cook walks on. Two dates to keep in mind beyond the announcements: pre-orders for the iPhone 18 Pro models are reported to open on Saturday 12 September, with phones on sale Friday 18 September.
The foldable is a different story. Bloomberg’s latest reporting says the iPhone Duo will not go on sale until October at the earliest, and supply is expected to be tight — Ming-Chi Kuo forecasts only 7 to 8 million units for all of 2026. A staggered, country-by-country rollout starting in the US has been reported but not confirmed, so a UAE date tonight is not guaranteed. We will flag UAE pre-order timings and Apple Store availability the moment they appear.

A quick sweep of what has leaked in the last few hours, ahead of the keynote at 9:00 PM UAE time.
The foldable’s storage tops out higher than expected. Bloomberg’s $3,000 ceiling appears to be a 2TB configuration, which would make the iPhone Duo the most expensive iPhone Apple has ever sold. In UAE terms that is roughly AED 12,750 at the top, against about AED 8,500 for the 256GB model.

Apple Pencil support looks increasingly likely. Several reports overnight now treat it as expected rather than possible, which would make the Duo the first iPhone to take a stylus.
The Apple Watch Series 12 has a new recording feature. Bloomberg mentions it without much detail, so this is one to watch during the Watch segment rather than something we can pin down yet.
What has not changed: the 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max are still expected to be a $100 rise in the US, the foldable is still reported as October at the earliest, and the standard iPhone 18 is still absent from tonight’s line-up.

The foldable iPhone Duo: the two things to watch for
Hours before the keynote, Bloomberg reported that Apple has settled on iPhone Duo for its first foldable, emphasising the two screens. Everything else remains rumour, though the reporting has been consistent: a 5.5-inch cover screen, a 7.6 to 7.8-inch inner display, a titanium frame around 4.5mm folded, a magnetic hinge Apple has worked hard to keep crease-free, the new A20 Pro chip, and — unusually — Apple Pencil support. Dark blue and white are the reported colours.
The two details to listen for are what is missing. Multiple reports say there is no telephoto camera, just two 48-megapixel rear lenses, and no Face ID, with a side-mounted Touch ID sensor instead. For the most expensive iPhone ever sold, both would be notable omissions — and both are the sort of thing Apple tends to leave off the slides.
What we expect the prices to be in the UAE
Apple has announced nothing yet, so treat these as projections. They are based on the current iPhone 17 line in the UAE and the rate Apple converts dollar prices at locally, which works out around 4.25 times the US figure rather than the raw exchange rate.
Today’s Apple UAE prices for reference: iPhone 17 Pro starts at AED 4,699, the 17 Pro Max at AED 5,099. Bloomberg’s last-minute report says the Pro models go up by $100 — about AED 425 — which would mean roughly AED 5,100 for the 18 Pro and AED 5,500 for the Pro Max. That is far gentler than the $250 to $300 rise analysts had been forecasting.
The foldable is the expensive one. Bloomberg now puts it at $2,000 for 256GB rising to around $3,000, which points to roughly AED 8,500 to AED 12,750 here. For context, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold8 starts at AED 7,199 in the UAE.
