A new Smash Bros game and a Nintendogs revival are reportedly in development for Nintendo Switch 2, according to claims from a YouTube account with a small but increasingly discussed record of accurate Nintendo leaks. Nintendo has not confirmed either project.
The claims were reported by Video Games Chronicle after being highlighted by Pokémon leak account Centro Leaks. VICE’s report also traced the claims to comments posted by the account, known as malo932.
What the new Smash Bros game claim says
Malo932 reportedly said Nintendo is working on a new Smash Bros game rather than simply porting Super Smash Bros. Ultimate to Switch 2. Asked whether Ultimate was coming to the new console, the account replied: “No, a new Smash is in the works.” That is the entire direct claim; there is no title, release window, roster or footage attached to it.
The same account has also teased the return of Nintendogs through comments about a “forgotten” cosy Nintendo series coming back and “barking”. VGC reports that Nintendogs + Cats launched with the Nintendo 3DS in 2011, following the original Nintendo DS game.
Why people are paying attention
Malo932’s earlier claims about a new Star Fox game, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake and two Nintendo Direct presentations were reportedly posted before those stories were publicly confirmed. That history explains the interest, but it does not turn the latest claims into announcements.
Nintendo’s official Switch 2 page lists confirmed games and features, but neither rumoured title appears there. The claims were also not tied to a specific Nintendo Direct, so there is no basis to expect either game at the next presentation.
For now, the new Smash Bros game and Nintendogs reports remain unconfirmed. Nintendo has not announced release dates, platforms beyond the claim, or any development details.
