Insomniac has released Marvel’s Wolverine update 1.001.006 on PS5, adding switches for several collectible Senses indicators and fixing a list of crashes and bugs. The patch follows last week’s update, which reduced the intensity of Wolverine’s scent trails after players complained that the visual guidance was difficult to ignore.

Marvel’s Wolverine update 1.001.006 adds three Senses toggles
The new options cover Whisky Bottle Scent Trails, Material Crate Audio Clues and Nightmare Door Roots. They can be changed under Settings > Gameplay > Senses, according to IGN’s patch-notes guide. The toggles apply to collectible-related clues; story-critical Senses will still appear in the world.
That means players can look for bottles, crates and Nightmare Doors without the same visual or audio prompts pointing them out. The default setting keeps the indicators available, so the update does not make the guidance mandatory in either direction.
Insomniac also says it has addressed several crashes identified through crash logs and community reports. The full list includes a progression issue that could leave players stuck while sliding down a tree during “The One That Got Away”, misaligned claws in Photo Mode, objects turning white after extended play sessions and an overlapping bathroom sign in the casino caused by a UV mapping issue.
The hotfix also targets crashes and visual bugs
The update is the second quick patch for Marvel’s Wolverine since launch. The previous update toned down the scent-trail presentation, while Insomniac had already said it was responding to player feedback around the game’s guidance systems. That earlier feedback response is covered here.
Insomniac’s official patch notes do not list any new content, missions or balance changes. This is a settings and stability update, with the collectible prompts now left to the player’s preferred level of hand-holding.
Will turning off Senses remove story-critical clues in Marvel’s Wolverine?
No. Insomniac says story-critical Senses remain in the world even when the new collectible-related indicators are disabled.
Where can players change the new Senses options?
The toggles are listed under Settings, Gameplay and Senses, where players can separately control the collectible guidance options.
Does update 1.001.006 add new missions or content?
No. The official notes describe this as a settings and stability hotfix rather than a content update.
