Lenovo Saudi Arabia has produced its first laptop in Riyadh, with limited mass production due to begin in late 2026 at its manufacturing facility. The announcement was made at LEAP 2026 as the company expands its partnership with Saudi industrial group ALAT, following the company’s 2025 factory groundbreaking.
Lenovo Saudi Arabia production starts with a laptop
The device is one of the first products to come from Lenovo’s Saudi facility. The site will eventually make PCs, desktops, Motorola smartphones and servers, with the first limited production runs planned for late 2026.
Lenovo and ALAT announced their strategic collaboration in 2024, followed by a planned US$2 billion investment. Lenovo says the Riyadh site is the first in its network to produce its full portfolio of products. The factory covers 200,000 square metres and sits inside the Riyadh Integrated logistics zone, close to the city’s airport. Reuters reported that the site was expected to produce PCs, laptops, smartphones and servers from 2026.
Tareq Alangari, Lenovo’s senior vice president and president for the Middle East, Türkiye and Africa, said the laptop showed what the partnership could deliver.

What the Riyadh factory will make
The factory is expected to supply Saudi Arabia and other markets in the region. Lenovo’s global production network includes more than 30 sites across 11 countries, while the Riyadh operation is intended to support local manufacturing, regional distribution and the company’s wider supply chain.
Lenovo also opened its META regional headquarters in Riyadh in April 2026. The company said 28 Saudi graduate engineers had returned from training at its global facilities to work at the manufacturing site.
There is no Saudi or UAE retail price for the first laptop yet, and Lenovo has not identified the model or its release date. The announcement covers manufacturing, not a consumer launch.
