According to IGN, the MIT logo appears to feature an illustration of both Doctor Doom and Mister Fantastic. The video’s poor quality makes the details hard to confirm, but IGN says there’s enough visible to support the reading. Some fans take it as a nod to Reed and Victor having shared a past before the film.
That would fill a gap. Not everyone is convinced. IGN says other fans think the grainy footage is encouraging people to read too much into it, and some doubters suspect the shirt is simply merchandise. Neither Marvel nor the actors have said anything about the logo, so it stays a theory, much like the trailer theories about hidden characters that have already done the rounds.
The timing explains the scrutiny. IGN says Downey’s Father’s Day post had already sent fans digging for hints that the film will explore Doom’s backstory.
