HONOR has announced MagicOS 11, an Android 17-based software update with a Liquid Glass-style redesign, faster animations, a more capable Yoyo AI assistant and broader cross-device sharing. The software is expected to debut on the HONOR Magic 9 series later this month.
HONOR MagicOS 11 brings a Liquid Glass-style redesign
The most obvious change is visual. MagicOS 11 adds translucent panels, refreshed icons, updated widgets and customisable tinting for the home screen and dock. HONOR says its Luminous and Hummingbird architectures help the interface run up to 20% faster than MagicOS 10, despite the extra reflections and transparency effects.
MagicOS 11 is an Android skin that looks heavily influenced by Apple’s Liquid Glass design language. HONOR’s announcement, shared at its Global Developer Conference and reported by Android Authority, puts the redesign across the home screen, navigation bars and quick settings rather than limiting it to a single theme.
Yoyo AI and storage tools get larger claims
The updated Yoyo assistant is configured for more than 1,000 scenarios and integration with over 10,000 third-party AI services in China. HONOR also says it can handle tasks involving up to 100 steps, although the company has not indicated that all of those services or capabilities will be available outside China.
HONOR MagicOS 11 adds Storage Space 2.0, which uses lossless compression to free up to 60GB of storage, depending on the device and its existing data. The update also expands file sharing and connectivity with iPhones, Apple Watch, OPPO, vivo and Xiaomi devices. GSMArena’s report confirms the same headline features and the claimed animation improvement.
The update is expected to arrive first with the HONOR Magic 9 series. HONOR has not yet published a full international rollout list, so owners of existing phones will need to wait for device-specific details. The Magic 9 range has already been linked to ARRI camera features and a September launch announcement, making the software a substantial part of the upcoming phone story rather than a quiet background update.
