How Talabat QuikBot delivery robots will work
The robots are intended to handle the part of a delivery that usually begins after a rider reaches a tower. QuikBot describes its platform as a floor-to-floor service for residential apartments, offices, hotels and other buildings. Its website shows separate short-haul and long-haul robots, along with smart lockers for hand-offs.
The Dubai pilot will test how that system fits into Talabat’s existing delivery network. Talabat QuikBot delivery robots are being tested as the building-facing part of the service. The companies have not announced how many buildings or robots are involved, when residents will see the service, or whether orders will cost more or less during the trial.
QuikBot’s own description of the platform points to autonomous navigation, building access and delivery to a customer’s floor. Those are the practical problems the pilot needs to solve: a rider still has to reach the building, find a parking spot, clear the lobby and wait for a lift before the order reaches the flat. The robot is being tested on that middle section, not as a replacement for the full delivery journey.
