The Mubadala–Together AI partnership will give San Francisco-based Together AI a local presence in Abu Dhabi as both sides explore AI infrastructure and ecosystem opportunities across the UAE. GCC Business News reported the partnership on Tuesday.
Mubadala’s announcement, carried by Zawya, says the partners will identify opportunities to support the development and deployment of AI in the UAE. The announcement confirms an Abu Dhabi office, but does not name a data-centre project, investment amount for new UAE infrastructure, capacity, customer launch or opening date.
What the Mubadala–Together AI partnership includes
The arrangement follows Mubadala’s $100 million participation in Together AI’s Series C, according to Mubadala’s announcement. Together AI’s company announcement says it raised $800 million at an $8.3 billion post-money valuation on 1 July and that new investors committed more than 500 megawatts of compute capacity, to be capitalised independently. Those funding and capacity figures describe the earlier global round, not a UAE commitment.
Together AI describes its full-stack platform as a way to build and run open and custom AI models, with inference, research and accelerated compute, in its July Series C announcement. Inference is the computing needed to run a trained model for users, so local engagement could help the company work with regional developers and demand. The announcement does not say that those workloads will be hosted in the UAE.
Together AI says it serves more than one million developers worldwide, according to Mubadala’s announcement; the release gives no UAE user count.
An Abu Dhabi office is not an AI data centre
Together AI chief executive Vipul Ved Prakash said the company sees demand for open-source AI outpacing available compute. The quote appears in Mubadala’s announcement.

The office gives Together AI a local base, but Mubadala’s announcement leaves the infrastructure work exploratory. It does not confirm where any future compute would sit, which organisations might use it, or when a service could become available.
Abu Dhabi is building a wider sovereign-AI ecosystem. Qadi and Core42’s UAE partnership focuses on sovereign AI compliance, while Mubadala has separately explored backing a data centre in Japan’s Akita prefecture. Those projects have different partners and scopes; neither is part of the Together AI agreement.
For UAE developers, the practical question is whether the office leads to local infrastructure, support or service availability. None has been announced yet. Together AI’s July Series C announcement gives the global compute context, but the Abu Dhabi partnership has no published capacity or delivery schedule.
