Lilo & Stitch 2 arrives in theatres on 28 May 2028, and it brings Angel with it.
Disney confirmed the date at its big Friday presentation on the opening night of D23 in Anaheim on 14 August, where a newly released image and teaser introduced the sequel’s new arrival: Angel, Experiment 624, Stitch’s pink counterpart and, per ABC News, his love interest. She was first introduced in Lilo & Stitch: The Series, so the live-action universe is now borrowing from the show’s catalogue of experiments.
“Wait, there’s two of them?!” Maia Kealoha, back as Lilo, said on stage as Angel’s antennae appeared on screen. It was the reaction of someone finding out roughly when everyone else did.
The sequel follows the 2025 live-action Lilo & Stitch, which passed $1 billion worldwide — $423.7 million of it domestic, per The Hollywood Reporter. A follow-up went into development within weeks of that release. Chris Sanders, co-creator of the original animated film and the voice of Stitch in both versions, directs, with Jonathan Eirich, producer of the 2025 film, back via Rideback.
